Beach Bash presents the Standard Bank Beach Rush. The first ever Beach cycling event to hit Namibian shores.
Own a Fat Bike? Then this is meant for you. Don’t have a Fat Bike? Don’t worry, you can rent one for the day or if you are up for a challenge like a true Namibian, then hop on your mountain bike and show us what you got.
All participants will receive a goody bag courtesy of Standard Bank Namibia
10km Route (Fat Bike & Runners)
Your starting point is ‘Bird Island’ (5km north of Walvis Bay). Here you will be sent off and make your way on top of dunes which leads down to the Afrodite Beach.
After a fine stroll along the beach whilst getting rid of the pre-race nerves you will make your way to Dolphin Beach where a street rush awaits you. This street stretch won’t last long, and you will find yourself back on the shoreline taking in leaps op fresh air.
Here your first water point awaits you. The race continues along our beautiful coast until reaching Long Beach. Here another street stretch awaits you. After passing Long Beach you will ultimately end up at our iconic Tafel Lite Beach Bash where your private tent, live music and refreshments awaits you.
Don’t stress, there won’t be just one water point, but a few. We aim to make this race as fun-filled as possible, and thus you will be accompanied by back up vehicles pumping music along the way to keep your spirit and motivation on a high.
5km Route (Runners)
Starting point to be confirmed. Your route will join the second half of the 10km route.
Please note: Mountain bikes are welcome, although not recommended for the route. Unless you are one of the tough ones and up for a challenge.
