Xtreme MTB Stage 1 - Technical
Distance – 55km

Route Description :
The Xtreme challenge kicks off with a technical stage through the outskirts of Vredendal. The route pays homeage to the first ever Daisy and follows a lot of sections of the original,i.e Bergkraal 4x4 route. Some single track, technical climbs, and even a short rock garden add spice to this stage. Mixed in between is open farm roads and mostly jeeptrak when not in technical terrain. Although it’s a technical route, it's by no means unrideable and moderate skilled riders will be fine. Just remember to keep some gas in the tank for stage 3, and enjoy the Daisies in bloom.
Xtreme MTB Stage 2 – NIGHT Ride
Distance – 15km
Total Elevation : 200m
Route Description :
Stage 2 also takes part on Saturday after riders had some time to recover from the morning. This stage will start and finish shortly after sunset, so its compulsory that all riders have functional front and rear lights. The route is mainly farm road and easy jeeptrack. The route is short and fast, and riders will be finished with enough recovery time for stage 3.
Xtreme MTB Final Stage – Gravel Ride
Distance – 95km
Total Elevation : 800m
Route Description :
The final stage is takes riders via the open gravel roads towards the ocean. Riders will literally ride a few hundred meters from the sea past Doringbay and Strandfontein. From here riders will have the chance to race alongside the open gravel road next to the Sichen railway line and maybe even see the longest train in the country running beside them. From here it’s a shortstop/start and minimal portage section, before reaching the famous Olifantsriver canal. Riders will travel via the canal and farm roads towards Vredendal and to die keldery. The race ends with a nice flat sprint, whereafter riders can enjoy a well deserved cold one and exchange “war” stories.
